Our Staff

Our staff is comprised of committed Acupuncturists from India. With limited resources for education, and a large capacity for service, they have given up a private practice for a smaller income, for the opportunity to serve their community, and become a part of the growth of professionalism in the field of Acupuncture in India.

We push our students to a level that is not the norm in India. A student is not approved for examinations unless class attendance is maintained at 85%, and their class average is 75%. This presents a real challenge for our students. They have never been pushed like this in their previous schooling, and so we cross the educational and cultural boundaries of their worlds!

Our staff now consists of three full time Indian Acupuncture Doctors: One Principal, One Superintendent, and One Absentee Director who arrives every six months for about three weeks. We are presently, as always, struggling against the need for more funds to provide additional teachers.

We have a husband-wife team who is waiting to move into full-time teaching. We are very fortunate to have a very strong staff. We have put into effect, once a month, a half-day seminar for our staff in improved teaching skills, lecture-giving, test writing, so that the ever-present challenge of conveying effectively what one knows can be improved.

In the clinic, our teachers share their skills, including hands-on diagnosis and treatment, with students—the clinic is our best classroom.
